“Where Coast Meets City – Art That Connects Two Worlds.”

Handcrafted artwork by Ellie Charlton, blending raw coastal materials with modern design  a creation born from friendship, distance, and passion.

A Friendship That Inspired a Vision

From Shore to City was founded by Paul Edwards and Ellie Charlton, whose connection began in 2017 when Paul employed Ellie as a private carer for a member of his family in Ivybridge. What started as a professional relationship soon became a genuine friendship built on trust, compassion, and shared values. Years later, even as life took them to different parts of the country - Paul to the West Midlands and Ellie remaining in Cornwall - their bond remained strong.

When Paul suffered a stroke in October 2024, Ellie continued to offer emotional and mental support, helping him through recovery and reigniting a shared purpose. Together, they created From Shore to City, symbolising the bridge between Cornwall’s tranquil shores and Birmingham’s vibrant cityscape - a celebration of art, friendship, and the strength to begin anew.

The Art

Crafted by Nature. Shaped by Hand.

Ellie’s artwork captures the spirit of the coast using raw, organic materials sand, pebbles, driftwood, and shells - each carefully transformed into pieces that bring the calm of the sea into modern living spaces.

Every piece tells a story: of connection, movement, and the timeless beauty of nature. Perfect for homes that value authenticity, texture, and conversation. Sustainability & Giving Back

Honouring the Coast That Inspires Us

At From Shore to City, every piece of art begins with the beauty and textures of Cornwall’s coastline — the sand, driftwood, pebbles, and shells that tell the story of nature’s artistry.
